Yaya Toure wins african footballer of the year

Man City's Yaya Toure was named African footballer of the year in Accra Ghana last night.

The Man City midfielder who helped Citeh win their first premier league title in 40 years last season beat out Didier Drogba.  Toure and Drogba were both losing finalists in the African cup of nations.

Drogba and Chelsea clinched the champions league title after beating Bayern Munich on their home patch.

Zambia won the team of the year after their suprise win over tournament favorites Ivory Coast and their coach Herve Renard won coach of the year.
