Susan Sarandon‘s actress daughter, Eva Amurri, married former soccer player and now TV commentator Kyle Martino in october 2011, in Charleston, South Carolina.
Eva’s plans to wear Lela Rose down the aisle, using the satin-faced silk “The Woods” gown with three-dimensional lace yolk and low back as her base. For a personal touch, Amurri and Martino’s wedding date was embroidered in the lining in pale blue, for the bride’s ‘something blue.’ Amurri commissioned Rose to make mom Susan Sarandon’s mother-of-the-bride dress, too; she produced a silk faille sheath that also featured a three-dimensional lace neckline. when Eva put on the gown, of course she was stunning but you could immediately see how comfortable she was. She felt like the most beautiful version of her everyday self, actually she love it.
Okay, let’s get some particulars out of the way. Who designed her dress? Lela Rose, who also designed Susan’s dress and outfitted all of the bridesmaids as well. I can’t wait to see those wedding pics! Eva’s 30-year-old soccer stud was clad in a Brioni tux. Their nuptials were hosted by Sarandon and her former long time love, Tim Robbins, who helped raise Eva during his 23 year relationship with Susan. Eva’s father is Italian director Franco Amurri, and while he and Sarandon never married, the two went their separate ways shortly after Eva was born.
Sister Helen Prejean officiated the ceremony, the nun whom Sarandon portrayed in the 1995 film Dead Man Walking. After the couple said their ‘I do’s’, it was on to the black-tie reception. According to PEOPLE, the ceremony topped off a weekend that included a ‘scavenger hunt, a cocktail party, a casual oyster roast and barbecue rehearsal dinner’. The couple chose Charleston, South Carolina as the locale for their nuptials, as that is where Martino’s parents live.
Who is Kyle Martino, you ask? He’s a former MLS soccer player turned ESPN soccer commentator. Quite handsome, eh? Eva is a lucky gal! Sarandon approves of her son-in-law, telling Us Weekly over the summer, “He’s just a very sane, really lovely guy. His family’s fabulous. He adores her. I mean, you couldn’t ask for anything more.”
Congratulations to Eva Amurri and Kyle Martino! May you both have a lifetime of love, health and happiness!!
